Biography

1994 - Forever Winter is formed by Lehtinen (bass) and Rantanen (guitar), A couple of weeks later Haavisto (drums) and Leino (synth) are asked to join. The band begins to prepare material for their first demo.

1995 - The first and this far only gig is played. Soon after the band decides to take a break and the supposed demo never gets recorded only a couple of rehearsal recordings are spread through the underground.

1996 - Forever Winter is reformed by Haavisto, Leino and Liuksiala (bass). New songs are being composed and rehearsed.

1997 - Lehtinen replaces Leino as guitarist and the debut demo is recorded. 350 copies of the demo are spread and the response is surprisingly positive. Unisound International offers a 3 album deal, which is accepted.

1998 - In hurry the debut CD "Revenge" is recorded during summer. The material consists basically of a couple of new songs and re-recorded versions of songs from the demo. After the recording Petri Moisio is asked to join the band as second guitarist.

1999 - Unisound finally gets the debut CD released in spring. The band prepares material for the never to be released "The Sword and the Swordsman" CD. Jussi Ranta from Faerghail is asked to do the vocals for the album. In summer the band enters studio and records the album. Later in autumn Unisound informs the they will stop all record label activities and so the deal is off.

2000 - "The Sword and the Swordsman" material is split into two tapes, "Let Your Arrows Fly" released by Satanachia & Hades and "Dark Minstrels" released by Demonium. A new demo tape "Towards the Gates of Hell" is recorded and released through Swordslain.

2001 - Band prepares new material and new vocalist Aki Laaksonen is recruited.

2002 - "Demo 2002" tape is recorded and released through Swordslain. Soon after the release band decides that the services of Mr. Laaksonen are no longer needed.

2003 - In spring "Of Battles Unseen" tape is recorded and soon after released by War Productions. Also tracks for the upcoming split 7" with Sabbat are recorded. In autumn the band records material for Forever Winter / Devil Lee Rot split tape and Forever Winter / t.b.a. split 7".

2004 - Lehtinen decides to quit the band, Forever Winter / Devil Lee Rot split tape is released by War Productions. Tuomas Murtojärvi is asked to join the band as guitarist. Re-recording of the song "Doombell" is made for upcoming split 7" on Anger Of Metal Records.

2005 - The split with Ritual Steel is released on Anger Of Metal Records. The Sabbat/FW split LP is finally released by Holycaust. The band records their new yet unnamed full-length album, to be released during 2006.

2006 - New hymnals are being prepared?
